Hola! Bonjour!
My name is Maria Carmen Ibanez and I am really happy to be part of this great school IVLA. I am from Madrid, Spain, and I moved to the U.S. to be part of a program organized by the Spanish government to promote Spanish language at schools across the United States. I studied a Masters in English with minor in Linguistics in the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid and also a MA in Bilingual Education by Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. I currently live in Franklin, TN and I love the countryside and country music!
I have taught languages, French and Spanish, for 14 years, at very different levels and High School is my favorite. I am also an IB trained teacher and I am currently certified by the state of TN to teach French, Spanish, and English. I love the outdoors, spending time with friends and traveling. I love diversity of cultures and most of my close friends are from different continents around the world!
